Evaluation of Giomer Pit and Fissure Sealant as Compared to Resin Based One

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the antibacterial effect and microleakage of two types fissure sealants; Beautisealant Embrace wet Bond. Materials Methods: for evaluation effect, 30 saliva samples were obtained sent microbiology laboratory where streptococcus mutans isolated both materials was detected by agar diffusion method. For test extracted sound permanent molars obtained. Two groups formed (Group A &Group B) 15 teeth each. Teeth in group sealed with bond while used seal B. Dye penetration performed then specimens put 24 hours 2% buffered methylene blue dye. Resin blocks prepared longitudinally sectioned buccolingually, The assessed dye digital microscope. Results: it found that Bond recorded higher bacterial inhibition zone than Beautisealant. Mann-Whitney-test (P=<0.0001< 0.05) determine difference between showed statistical significance. value leakage non-significance as determined (P=0.4> 0.05).Conclusion: pit sealant could be better option regarding however no noticed them microleakage.
